Going alone is one of the most rewarding ways to travel — and one of the most thought-about. A few honest words on solo travel for women, and how we make it feel less like a leap.
More women are travelling alone than ever — for the freedom of it, the clarity, the particular pleasure of a day shaped entirely by your own wants. It is also, understandably, the kind of trip people turn over more carefully before they book. Most of the questions are really one question: will I be looked after?
Our answer is that travelling alone should never mean being on your own. Every journey we plan for a solo traveller is carried by one concierge from the first call to the morning you come home — a single number to call, a person who knows your itinerary as well as you do, and who is awake in your time zone when you are.
Where you go matters, and so does how. We choose the stays, guides and routes with safety and discretion in mind — hotels where the staff are briefed to look out for you, drivers we would put our own family with, neighbourhoods that come alive rather than empty out after dark. None of it announced; all of it arranged.
For some, going alone is about rest — a wellness retreat where the only schedule is your own, yoga at an hour you choose, an Ayurvedic week in Sri Lanka that recalibrates you. We build those days loose, with room to do nothing, and someone quietly making sure nothing you need is missing.
For others it is the opposite — a week learning to surf, a Muay Thai camp in Thailand, a dive certification in the Maldives, a craft picked up in the place it comes from. Travelling solo is the perfect cover for getting quietly better at something, and we build the journey around the practice.
And if you want company, we can find it — a private guide who becomes a friend by the third day, a long table at a family-run place, a cooking class that turns into an evening. If you would rather not see another soul, we arrange that too. Solo travel, done well, is whatever you need it to be on the day.
Tell us who you are and what you are hoping to feel — rest, a reset, or a reckoning — and we will handle everything around it. Beyond the itinerary, for moments you can't map.
